I've got a S&W, snub. On the barrell 's right side it's engraved AIRWEIGHT, 38 SPL CTG....on the left side of barrell it's engraved SMITH & WESSON. With cylinder out, engraved on frame where the cylinder (axle?) covers it up if the cylinder was in it says MOD-37. The snubbie has a sq frame at bottom of grip and the button that releases the cylinder is wedge shaped (High end closest to cylinder), grooved the full length from front to back vertically. The round S&W logo is only on the left side of the frame. The wood grip has silver colored S&W logos in the upper part of the grips.

It doesn't look like any model 37 I find pictured on internet. Serial #410XXX (I used X's instead of the last 3 digits) if that means something.

Anyone have an idea what I got and what it's worth?

If it says "Mod - 37" in the frame cut-out, you've got a Model 37. With the wedge shaped latch it was probably not made prior to 1966.

Thanks

Thanks....whats a reasonable price to ask for this. I'm going to sell it.

As always, it depends on condition. These are not rare or highly collectible.
Check gunsamerica, auctionarms, gunbroker or some of the other on-line sites for prices. Just remember to look for ones that have bids, don't go by the "asking" prices as these, in some cases, are way out of line.
I would expect to pay someplace in the $250-$300 range for a decent M37.
A little more if really nice.
