Found this in the back of the safe and had forgotten about it and its cousin the trooper, thinking about moving it out, never shot other than at the makers joint, has teh cheesy loose felt presentation box, look close enough you can see the blue fluff on the grip, anyway, its a 29-2 in 44 mag, any idea of its worth, trying to decide if I need another safe queen.
thanks

Nice gun. In today's market I'd think it would be worth $650 - $750. The 29-2 was the last of the P&R 44 magnums, and the nickel guns are not all that common. OTOH, the 4" guns seem to be the most sought after.

SCS&W prices are:

ANIB $850
Excellent $700
Very Good $450

If you still have the tools and the documents, they help keep the price in the higher ranges.

On some revolvers, the SCS&W is already behind the times, but I think it's not more than a hundred behind on the Model 29-2, depending on location.

Nickel does bring a slight boost to the price. Special order barrel lengths bring a pretty penny with the right buyer. What is your barrel length from cylinder face to muzzle?

Yep, have all papers, boxes tools, presentation case, and original shipping box from S & W, also have the trooper in 357 same condition, forget when or how I got these, its been awhile,
Just wondering, not typcially a safe queen gun keeper, thanks for looking

Oh my...that's absolutely gorgeous! I have little interest in .44Magnum, but that 29 might just change my mind...

The entire package should change hands in the $750-800 range I would think. If it's unfired, add a bit. The only concern is the loose flocking in the presentation case, but that can be redone.

Nice 29-2! The 8" barrel will sell a bit lower than say the 6 1/2, 5 - rare or 4 in versions. It might hit the quoted prices on Gun Broker and it might not. I would think it will be in the upper 6 hundred range personally. Best of luck!

A very nice gun. I picked up an identical one earlier this year for $750 and I considered that a very fair price. You hardly ever see the long-barrel model around here.

My nickel 29-2 is very close to yours, right down to the 8 3/8" barrel and the blue fluff in the box. Mine is # N488xxx, manufactured 1978.

I'll post a pic of the trooper when I return for the holidays, am presently in commie california doing the in law thing, missing arizona big time, went looking here south of San Jose at a few oldies, WOW, big numbers, and extremely rude people, felt like I was an outcast, I stuck with it and they finally came around, no deals, no steals, only high dollar stickups.
hey happy holdiays.
