SA SOCOM 16 or Scout Squad?

Would you trade a LNIB Socom 16 for a LNIB Scout Squad.

i personally prefer the scout and when i get one that is the model that i will get, if you could trade even then yeah i would do it.

YES! I really like the Scout barrel length. Its handier, but doesn't sacrifice much accuracy when compared with a full size, and the muzzle blast isn't bad. The SOCOM is a bit too short, IMO.

+1 for the Scout Squad (particularly if you remove the forward mount and turn it into a pseudo-Bush).

I don't know about that. I put a scout mount on my Bush rifle.

What is a have to buy price for a brand new from the dealer Scout Squad M1A? $1300 OTD, $1400 OTD........$1250???

Well, to qualify my remarks, I installed an Ultimak rail in place of the front handguard. The Springfield mount is a bit of a disappointment, IMO. The thing is though, with a standard handguard and no mount the rifle balances beautifully..better even than an M1 Garand. I would have absolute no compunctions about owning a second M1A in a plain, irons-only Bush configuration.
