My SAA is an EMF and it is quite the pleasant shooter. The ejector housing popped off this past weekend with some pretty strong loads. I found all the pieces but it looks like both the screw and the barrel are stripped. With the standard SAA configuration there is no reason to ever remove this housing again, so should I use locktite and hope for the best or should I try to repair the barrel threads and search for the crazy metric one-off pitch screw? If it weren't so stinkin small I could use a heli-coil to fix it but no such luck.

I just learned about 30 seconds ago that Brownells sells oversize screws for some regular gun uses. The poster in that other thread had stripped out his 6-48 holes in the receiver of a Ruger 10-22. He bought some of the oversize 6-48's and they turned in beautifully and snugged up his picatinny rail just great.

So if you can figure out what your screw is when it's looking good you could likely order up a cheap fix for your problem.

This is a neater way of doing it than trying to wedge in a metric or some other thread since it uses what is left of the existing thread fully and along the entire length. The trick would be to find what the existing thread is now that the screw is all dinged up. But if you can figure it out this could be a really easy fix.
