Does SAAMI occasionally drop cartridges from their listings? Yesterday went to look for 357 Maximum and it was no longer there.

Similar question: Does SAAMI list ALL USA loaded commercial cartridges? Winchester briefly loaded the 445 SuperMag but I've never seen it at SAAMI.

I really do not know.
I do know SAAMI is the Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturer's Institute. As such, it is composed of members being the manufacturers mentioned. Therefore I would THINK (conclude, not 'know') the ammunition under scrutiny would be those of the members.

Which does not bear on the question. One would assume SAMMI would have information on a cartridge designed and manufactured in the U. S., still in use.
One could believe SAAMI does not include obsolete rounds not - in someone's opinion - used much any longer. (One notes the ".35 S&W Auto" is not mentioned either.)

Perhaps if you wrote or sent an email to them?

Once long ago I phoned SAAMI on another question. It seems most of the time the janitor answers the phone. If you think about it, it's not an operation that requires a full time staff.
If I remember correctly, the 357 Maximum was listed at CIP, the European equivalent. However their standards are sometimes a bit different than US standards. As an example, SAAMI lists a lower pressure for the 7.65 mm Parabellum than the 9 mm Parabellum. CIP lists the same pressure for both, which makes more sense. CIP and SAAMI pressure measuring methods are not identical.
