GUN & KNIFE COIN & JEWELRY SHOW & SALE January 4th & 5th Sat. 9-5 Sun. 9-4 CAL EXPO 1600 Exposition Blvd. Modern & Antique Guns, Coins, Gold, Diamond & Indian Jewelry, Amo, Safes, Gun Access, Books, Fishing, Military, Wstrn Americana $1 off 1 Adult adm W/Ad

Anyone else going to attend? I dunno... this one sounds kinda crappy. I thought the Cal Expo shows got nixed last year? It used to be Roadrunner or Code of the West. This sounds like Amway or something....

A gun show in Sacramento?

Wow.

I'll bet that's going to be interesting....

Historically, the Cal Expo shows have been pretty good. Also, don't forget that pretty much everything east of the Coast Range is Conservative Ag land. Guns is good, and all. I believe they had 1100 tables in the past. Great ammo and a few good deals on guns.

That all came to an end last year when they moved the venue to the Sac Convention Center downtown. This new business looks like they are going with the jewelry, doll, and cinnamin roll theme rather than the Uber-Tactical kevlar vest black tip '06 ammo days of the past.

Maybe I'll check it out and report back... then again I got a new 1100 that needs a thorough checking out on these valley quail......
Time is too precious for dolls and bears.

Dr. Jones and myself are planning to make a trip to Cal Expo tomorrow since we live in Sacramento. PM me with you number and maybe a few of us can hook up.

There was a gunshow in Roseville last weekend. It was terrible. Very few tables-only one with handguns and one ammo vendor.

I'm hoping the Cal-Expo show is better. I'll be there tomorrow.

45R,

Please, please, please see if you can get me some poms there.

They've totally disappeared from here as of LAST week!

I'm having withdrawal symptoms and having to substitute pineapples!

OTOH, nevermind. The pineapples seem to work just fiine, thank you very much. :neener:

Us Sacramento folks should get those silly nametags they hand out at conventions and such to identify ourselves. Hello my name is.... Maybe our contingent could someday rival the likes of Tennesse or Lafayette,Ind. Someday....

So if we meet up, I'll by the first round of ammo. (get it, first 'round' of ammo) ha ha

ps. 45R, PM sent!

HEY....the Cal Expo show is GREAT.

You pay $4 to park in a lot that is only 712 miles from the gate. Then you pay again at the gate. Get a buck off if you clip the ad out of the paper. Then you haul your guns uphill for 2800 yards and up a ramp. Finally you get in. If you let them KNOW that you have CCW, you can go back to the car to put the gun away. (apparently CCW is legal everywhere except where guns are)

BUT....you then have the rare opportunity to buy coins at only twice what a legit coin dealer charges. You have a choice of smoked, boiled, dried, fried, raw, and hot beef jerky. Lots of holsters, belts, and.....yes....guns.

And a FEW tables will sell them for less than a regular gun shop.

So after walking up and down stairs in about the most humid (or cold or hot...depending on season) arena you can imagine, you end up buying some ammo to justify what you already spent to park and get in.

But there is ENTERTAINMENT. The guy with the Luger table who has 27,000 different varieties that he lugs around to SHOW. Not for sale though. But there are a few dogs on the table that can be had.

Good clothing store if you are looking for camo and kydex though.

Thanks, Shalako. I saw a sign for this yesterday out on the Yolo causway. Actually, my son saw it, but we blew past it before we could make out the dates and times. We might make it, depends on some other things. If you go Sat, give a report and maybe I'll make it on Sun. I usually try to get by the Miwall table to pick up some ammo.

I've been to a couple of the Cal Expo shows, and didn't really like them. Like Topgun said, they charge you $4 to park and you still have to walk a mile. I think it costs $7 to get into the show. Lastly, every show I've been to, the dealers charge outrageous prices and arent very helpful. I now buy everything online rather than at gunshows.

Save your gunshow money...

Drive to The Big Reno Show.

Cal Expo has become a great place to buy bumper stickers, beef jerky, Indian turquoise jewelry, camouflage clothing, Nazi relics, SHTF books, expensive burgers and hot dogs, and get your eyeglasses cleaned for free. Sometimes, they even have guns. :scrutiny:

..but..but...you can buy beer at 9AM and get a buzz while walking the show. I'll be there. I usually go to the Miwall table and purchase some of their reloaded ammo and look through their surplus ammo. If you buy a lot, they'll loan you a dolly to haul out your load to your car if the parking lot is too far. Not many surplus ammo stores in Sac with good prices. I need my fix of banana jalapeno flavored jerky.

Shhhhh! Don't tell my husband there's a gun show this weekend. He'll want to go, and I've got other plants. I think I'll wait until the Cow Palace show.

Uh oh. My husband found out that there was a gun show in Sacatomatoes this past weekend, and was thoroughly bumme.d I didn't let on that I had know about it and didnt mention, but am trying to find out when the next one is. Anybody know?

hey, i was out of town and missed the show :fire:. my experience has been pretty good for anything (ammo, holsters, accessories) except guns.

gewehr98 - i just went to the site you posted...are these the same dates as the "SGN" (shotgun news) show?

are you guys interested in going up to a reno show? i usually try to win back (at the gaming tables) what i spend at the show tables

Thanks, Sactown. I'll put it on our Calendar. I stock up on ammo at gunshows, and hubby has a few coin and currency dealers he like that show up at specific shows. I was kinda gun-showed out for a little while, and didn't want to drive to Sacramento last weekend. So, please, ya'll don't tell my hubby I knew about the show (found out Saturday morning, reading threads) and didn't tell him.
