Picked up a handgun today at the Biscoe show. Been wanting a 1911 and grabed this one. For some reason i just loved the feel, look and etc..I have no clue about its history or the maker...If anyone knows any thing about this brand and would like to share please do. Thanks!..Id love to know the age/value or any history on the maker..the internet dosnt seem to have a lot that i can find. Thanks.

Pics tell most since all the numbers are readable in the pics.

Only thing i can comment on it is i got it today at a lcoal show..took it home. shoot 50rds of match .45 through it and it cycled great and has a good feel. Ill do a report after it gets some use. I really like the finger groove in the frame. Cleaned it and put it up. Im thinking it will be a keeper for me and would love to find some info or here from other owners.

well after looking all over the web heres what i came up with...

Its a parts 1911..basically a Colt? slide on a safari frame...I dont know the make of the slide and barrel yet...other than its a military match slide and barrel. Or so thats what i think after some reading.

From other forums...Let me know if you know any more info or comments..

"779 refers to the first three numbers of military arsenal repair parts. The parts number stamped on a 1911 slide will be 7790314, the part number stamped on a 1911 barrel will be 7791193. The slides are exceptional and the barrels that I've seen are chrome lined."

"The 7790314 slides are specially hardened slides made for Army National Match pistols. Colt initially made Colt marked slides, then they produced slides for these pistols simply with 7790314 on the left side of the slide. "

"It is my understanding, those parts marked "TZ" were manufactured by the Isreali, IMI? These slides were called "hard slides", this slide also has Rockwell test marks, and I understand made for the military marksmanship units during the late 60's & 70's. "
