Is it molded plastic? If so, forget it....What I do like about it is the unobstructed unholstering....If you like this style, look at some leather Yaqui belt slides....

That appears to be fobus style plastic stuff that Springfield was giving away with the purchase of their pistols. It has not reviewed well in most circles.

If you are on a budget, look at Uncle Mikes or Bldetech injection molded series of Kydex. Both holsters and pouches should be arround 20ish shipped per piece.

I agree with the previous poster, looks like the springfield freebies. Not anything you'd want for concealment. My XD 45 came with the holster and mag carrier.

1911 Holster

I have a Blackhawk CQB for a full-sized 1911 (no rail: traditional-style). Very happy with it. Disclaimer: I don't have extensive experience with other holsters. Good for the range and open carry; I have yet to try concealed carry with it.

Dont make the same mistakes I have made over the years, I have the boxes of holsters to prove it. Dont buy cheap stuff. If you are going to buy leather get yourself some Alex Nossar, www.nossargunleather.com or Milt Sparks. If you want Kydex there is only one, Comp-Tac. Theirs is some of the best made, it is without a doubt the most flexible in terms of user configuration. You can set it up how it works for you, you aren't stuck with "Its how it came out of the mold". Here is my Kahr PM-9 in a Comp-Tac IWB w/Clip.

I have their "Infidel" IWB holster and all of the accessories for my 1911's. It distributes the weight of an all steel pistol to 2 points on your belt, greatly reducing, belt sag and rub spots on your hip. Its the one I use every time now, I have lots of Nossar leather and love it..but...for everyday stuff the Comp-Tac Kydex is far and away the best plastic out there, in my opinion of course...You can spend your money to find this out but I have saved you the trouble! Laugh!!

I got this holster with my XD45. Great pistol! Holster suxs big time. Hangs very loose, no feel of weapon security. If you want a kydex holster check out the Blackhawk SERPA.($45-$60) I have one for each of my handguns and have used them for about a year, I have had no problems with any of them although I have heard of one or two people that have had problems with the release sticking if they get dirty.

Comp Tac makes good kydex holsters as well.

I wouldn't carry a 1911 in a kydex holster. That's just my .02 cents worth though. I prefer leather for my 1911's.
