Hi, Eric. Thanks for the post - I'm going to try one out ASAP, as it sounds perfect for rifles without the 3-point attachment. Would one of these be suitable for the Steyr Scout rifle as well (i.e. not using the middle attachment)?

Thanks, and I hope you like it (let me know)! Yes, you can use it on the Steyr Scout. It's major advantage over the original Ching Sling, of course, is that it doesn't require modification to the rifle to add the middle stud, which means it can be used on any rifle with the standard two sling studs.

Welcome to THR. I've been using one of your Slings for about 8 years and would have no other sling on my hunting/precision rifles.

This new one looks like just the ticket for those individuals that are unfamilure with the Ching Sling and don't want to add a third swivel.

That new design looks truly wonderful! I can't wait to try a few out. Is there any sort of swivel that you would recommend using in combination with the Safari?

Thanks for the kind words. Always glad to hear from a satisfied user! Getting rid of the need for the third swivel was the main impetus for coming up with a new design.

Any sling swivel will do, so pick the one you like best. I generally use Uncle Mike's QDs, and I've been experimenting with the Hush Swivel to see if it's as quiet as they claim (it seems to be, and I'd call it "semi-QD" only because it's a bit of a pain to unscrew the bolt with just one's fingers). But the Safari Ching Sling's "Keyhole Lock" system is so easy to use that fixed swivels, as found on many older rifles, are no impediment to its use.

I've bought two of the Safari Ching Slings Eric. They are lovely. By the way, does anyone make one out of nylon istead of leather? Or, can someone custom make one for me? I don't need all of the adjustments once I measure how the Safari sling is set up. For some of my rifles I prefer the 1.25" nylon material used in USGI slings. Many thanks.
