Howdy folks. I don't know how sportsman-like this is, and I'm just asking for opinion...If I use my next year's tax returns plus extra pay for 7 months in Iraq to buy myself a big game gun and the trip, would you consider it hunting or killing to spend a week and a half in Africa with a bag limit of 10 beasties? I'm not a Fudd (I know we shouldn't use that term), but I love hunting and don't own any black guns. I also like eating various meat that's not Cow, Elk, Deer, Moose, and Pig...but I've been taught good sportsmanship and shooting en-masse at herds doesn't seem good ju-ju to me. What do you think?

**EDIT** Mods, can you put this in the hunting forum, I just realized I'm in the Gen-Dis forum.

It will be one of the best experiences of your life. Make sure your PH understands that you want to do a walk and stalk hunt, and not hunt from a vehicle, and you will work very hard for your animals. None of the reputable outfitters will ever allow spray and pray at a herd of animals, their reputations and way of life will not allow it. Stay out of Zimbabwe though, you do not want to be there, and you do not want to support the most corrupt government since Idi Amin. Take another week and spend it in a game reserve just doing photography and touring the country.

Don't see anything wrong with that. If you're not poaching and they're not near extinction, no-one's getting hurt. I'd personally envy you for the fun experience. (but get all your shots, malaria, hepatitis, anything specific to where you go).
