Safe Act Call In (part 2)

They're waiting to see what happens ... if they are too vocal too soon than it will attract attention to the bill and people who didn't know about it but support it will come out of the woodwork.

I bet in the final days of debate the antis will tack all sorts of evil crap on it to either kill it or we'll get nation wide CCW but an AWB renewal. At the very least a .50BMG ban will get tacked on.

a quick question for clarification...

I see how this bill would extend reciprocity between states that issue CCL. What does this do for Alaska/Vermont, who don't issue CCL. And how does this relate to States' individual regulation about how/when/where one carries? (i.e., schools, bars, alcohol, courthouses, etc). Would people recieve reciprocity, and then be regulated by the individual states' restrictions?

I like the idea, as the RKBA should be recognized nationally. However, should we be mindful about the right on the state to regulate certain carry practices (mindless though some of them by, i.e., school zones, etc)?

Dunno about Vermont, but Alaska still issues permits so that Alaskans can CCW in states with reciprocity.

If I read this correctly it says to me that if you live in VT or AK and get a non-resident permit elsewhere than it would be good everywhere.

I see the sponsors, but haven't been following this bill too closely. I made a call today urging my Congressman to support it. What are the chances we see this thing succeed? Fair? Poor?

Re: Alaska & Vermont.

Does it make too much sense that if one has a state issued ID, with name and address on it (as in a DL), one HAS a carry permit?
