I just picked up a Stevens model 311A. 12ga 2 3/4" it appears to be choked a tight mod and full. There are so many non toxic loads today that I've forgotten which is which. All I ever waterfowl hunt with is steel. Are both Bismuth and Tungsten Matrix safe? Is one better than the other?

Thanks,
BB

I've actually been looking today for much the same thing for an older (fixed) full choke. Best I can tell, only Bismuth is good to go with a full choke, and darn those are hard to find & expensive. From my searching today it appears that every product that's suitable has been discontinued! Guess they want us to buy new guns...

i use bismuth cartridges and they are pretty good.... although very expensive. My favourite for duck shooting is eley grand pris high velocity bismuth in 5 shot. Eley have quite a good range of bismuth cartridges... i don't know how available they are in america.
