Safety Broken on Hi-Standard H-D Military 22 Auto

I dug out my Hi-Standard 22 after 20 years or so in a drawer, cleaned it and discovered the safety doesn't keep the hammer from dropping. I looked into it and discovered the (forgive my names) chisel shaped thing that fits into the slot in the hammer base doesn't fit all the way in. I cleaned as best I could without taking it all apart without success.

Is this something that is adjustable? How about fixable? Advice?

My 38 yr old HS is different. The safety fits in a slot in the trigger linkage.
