Saiga-12 tell me about them. Looked at a new one last weekend, do they work? Are 10 round magazines easy to come by?

It is illegal to insert a 10 round magazine into the gun without first modifying it to feature additional US made parts. Federal law 922r.

They're lot of fun when converted.

Saiga-12's are a fantastic weapons, very reliable and a lot of fun. I can't imagine a better weapon for home defense either.

If you want to use anything larger than a 5 round magazine you are gonna have to change out parts so that you have the proper amount of US compliant parts, just like Dark Knight said.

The easiest way to do that is to convert it to a pistol grip configuration, because if you're gonna swap out parts, you might as well do it up right!

The Promag 10 round magazines are easy to find, just do a quick google search and you'll find tons of dealers selling them. It's a little difficult to change the mags out unless you have the bolt held open though, but if you have an empty 10 rounder in it, you've probably done enough damage for awhile. ;)

Here's a handy little checklist for 922(r) compliance. Even though it says rifle it applies to the shotty as well. No more than 10 rounds on an import rifle, no more than 5 for a shotgun until you've added enough compliant parts.

I'm not familiar since I don't own an S-12 yet, but I think if you put 9 rds in a 10 rd magazine it will insert easily.

Saiga buy one

Easy to convert replace and move forward the fire control with a G2 made in the US, pistol grip and ACE folding stock, I use the AGP 10 round mags, the promags do not work out of the box the follower needs a lip to have the tip of the round tilt up a hair easy fix. The Saiga is the best shot gun that I have ever owned very little recoil and extremely reliable.
