Greetings to all. The other day, I ran across a thread that had some form of AK that someone had (can't remember which one :banghead: ); they had varnished the wood, mounted a scope, and all the other goodies.....except that it caught my eye that they had a bipod mounted onto the wood furniture. Which, of course, got me to thinkin'....could the same be done on a modern Saiga .308 with wooden furniture? Soon enough I'll have the scope thing taken care of (PSO optic, once the distributer gets them in), but the idea of an integral bipod would be one of those things to, IMO, make my rifle complete (cheap man's "sniper" rifle). So, has anyone done such a thing before, and if so, what make/model bipod would work? Or, if mounting it onto the rifle somehow wouldn't work, can anyone suggest a bipod that would work well on a Saiga? Much obliged to anyone who replies to this post.

if your wooden Saiga furniture has the same front sling mount as the synthetic furniture .308 Saigas, then you can indeed mount a Harris bipod onto the sling mount, I've done it on my Saigas.

Could you possibly post pics/give instructions? Or just PM/email me or whatever. I assume that the sling mount is the same, i've never gotten a good comparison between mine and synthetic furniture. If a possible "before/after" comparison pic exists, I can see from that (I hope :uhoh: ). Thanks for responding.

if there is a sling mount there, it will work with a Harris bipod. Just take it to your local shop (almost all shops carry and stock Harris bipods) and they'll help you out.

I prefer rocky mount bipods, they are quite good. Also eightball if your rifle does not have a front sling mount on it all you have to do is take it to any gunsmith and they can do it for you OR you can just buy the hardware and do it yourself with a drill and tapping tool.
