I'm in the process of collecting the parts to convert my new-to-me 20" Saiga to a Pistol Grip. I'm going for kind of an urban DMR set up I'm going to be using primarily glass for aiming, I haven't decided whether to go with the Russian optics from Tantal or a QD rail with a conventional scope.

My biggest hang up though is the buttstock. I'm leaning towards us manufacture for my parts count, as I'm shooting with glass I've been looking at the Ace skeleton with the cheek riser, installed as a non folder. Is this likely my best choice?

On the Saiga 308 that I had, I added an Internal Reciever Block Trunnion where I had to cut off the Trunnion tang. I liked the flush look.

Afterwards, it was easy to install an ACE skeleton stock. I'm 5'7", and I found that a 9.5 inch skeleton stock and 1" recoil pad made a good LOP for me.

Good luck with it!

I went with a Choate one-piece synthetic stock from Ultimak on my saiga conversion, and i'm very happy with it. It took a little fitting ( ended up using a small peice of bicycle innertube as a spacer between the grip and trigger guard ) but now it's solid and looks great, plus the price ($55) was most reasonable and now i have an extra set of black foregrips lying around.I almost went with another similar stock that has a little cheek-rest, (don't recall the name, you see it around alot on the web) but cheek weld with this was fantastic, way better than any standard wood stock. Here's a link...
