Anybody familiar with the Sako A7 Long Range?
Looking at the .308 version.

Ive heard really good things about them. They are basically a higher end Tikka which every Tikka I've shot has been a very accurate rifle.

Only negative Ive read about is the magazine. The mags are supposed to be nice but they are super expensive and hard to find. But there are companies making bottom metal for them so it should be easy to convert to AICS mags if you want to.

I have one in 6.5 Creedmoor. It’s a very good shooter and very easy to reload for. It’s heavy, but if you’re interested in one, you know that. Trigger is good, but not the best. Stock is top notch. I didn’t find the magazine too expensive, but I bought this rifle shortly after they came out so prices may have been better. My version came with a brake, which I like, but it’s a metric thread so your upgrades are limited.

When I say easy to reload for what I mean is it’s not very particular to powder or load variations. It’ll shoot about anything well. Most other rifles I have take some effort to find good loads, but not this one.

I’ve gotten very close to buying the 308 version a couple of times, but I’ve already got that caliber covered so I’ve somehow managed to avoid the temptation. If you can handle the weight, I think you’ll be very happy with it.

I have a bunch of 308 ammo. Thus the choice.
This is going to be the long range or tac rifle. So weight is ok. It will wear a 4.5-27 optic.
I have a Tikka T3x in 308. I wonder if the mags are the same.

I just looked up the mags. 3 round mags are 80 bucks. Not bad if it's a hunting rifle but if you plan on running this gun for any sort of competition or classes that's going to limit you pretty bad.

I have the Sako and Bergara. I prefer the Bergara for the reasons you mentioned. Good luck and let us know how it shoots.
