Seems to me that about 1989 or 1990 I read about this rifle shotgun firearm that was magazine feed and each had its own mag. 1 for 308 and 1 for 12 gauge and they were mounted side by side underneath the action. This firearm was I believe a pump and a semi auto and used a selector lever to determine which mode, 12ga or 308, you were in. Seems like I read about this firearm in Gun Digest. And it was going into production by a company called Sam or Star and the firearm model was called a Crossfire?
Does this sound even remotely familiar to anyone?

The three that I've seen could be summed up in one word: Junk. The only redeeming factors were that it was in .223 and 12ga and took AR mags.

The thing is huge and cumbersome, and pumping (yes, both calibers were pump only) took about 20 pounds of effort, when it wasn't jammed. No word on accuracy.

A Saiga .223 and a Remington 870, both brand new, would be a better option in every possible sense (aside from the magazine issue). It'd even be cheaper and more portable.

The Crossfire was a good idea (on paper ONLY) that somehow made it past the prototype stage.

The funny part, IIRC, was that they were selling for top buck (>$1000). (At least the ones I saw advertised.)
