Yeah... I couldn't even go outside for almost the entire month of December b/c my idiot neighbor's next door decided they want to see the deer EVERY day and put out corn and apples to invite them to their yard.
Thing is, they GOT a fence around their back yard, while we have nothing! We just lease and when I asked my landlord to put up a fence for my safety (did you KNOW that the Lyme disease shots are NO longer available for humans as of 2006?) he refused, saying I'd have to put one up at my expense!
Then I decided to get a Lyme disease shot for my pet since he was a young pup and always outside to go to the bathroom, and took it off my rent.
Then b/c I was FORCED to do that, cuz the landlord wouldn't even TALK to the neighbor who was feeding the deer, he decided he was NOT going to let me stay there indefinitely, as he told me only 2 weeks earlier and came over NEW YEAR'S Day, supposedly to mow the big lot next to the house, in order to keep the deer at bay.
we had two 8 point bucks with their antlers LOCKED together, with a young doe standing right next to them, at 7:30 am only 2 days AFTER Christmas day 10 feet away from our garage door!
Talk about dangerous! The idiot animal control also let the neighbor's keep the salt block on their back yard, we see, and there's a park for kids only a hundred yards from our yard!
I took a walk over there the other day and see TONS of deer scat (excrement) there, so I KNOW the deer are ALSO going over to the park!
Poor kids, and poor cats, and poor me! I am disabled and now live in constant fear of these wild bucks showing up on our property.
Since we're within the city limits we cannot do ANYTHING to scare them off, firearms-wise! Not even bow-hunting, which I find ridiculous and discriminatory!
Be very very careful if you are driving ANYWHERE in the Asheville, North Carolina area. I even talked to a guy in the pet store the other night and he said he saw a deer standing RIGHT NEXT to a Target! Talk about NOT being afraid of humans anymore, the deer round here, sure are NOT!
Yes, according to NC law, it's LEGAL to feed wild animals. Seems the NC govt are more interested in saving the deer than human's lives, but yet, we're expected to send beacoup $$ to save the poor people of Haiti, while people are PURPOSELY exploiting the wild deer population to SEE them, and collect their antlers, meanwhile putting all their neighbors and everyone who drives on this busy street in danger!
Don't come to Asheville, NC people! They will do NOTHING to save your life if you buy a plot of land or a house within the city limits! So sad! Even in the summer, we almost ran into the deer driving down the street! And the roads are so narrow and twisty around here with NO shoulders at all! Dangerous driving here, that's for sure. This is just a recipe for disaster, imho!
We even had a WILD BEAR coming into the downtown area on New Year's Eve night of all nights!
Oh, sure, it's LOVELY to see wildlife in a populated area! Are you out of your freakin' minds??? (rolling eyes)
I remember well, how scary it was to see wild bears coming onto our property in the middle of the day or at dusk!
people would often feed them though, cuz they thought it was "interesting"
Sure, it's interesting.. how "interesting" is it though, to be attacked by a wild animal?
Not interesting... but tragic... you THINK that wild buck won't attack humans?

Sure they are INNOCENT creatures! Not!! everything has its dark side.. deer are not exempt from that!
Start culling the damn things! They are endangering our lives!
What are the symptoms of lyme disease anyway? I saw a bulleye's type mark on my arm early this past summer and was thinking, "what on earth is THIS?"
How do you train your dog to hunt deer anyways? We got a hunting dog.. it's a strong dog for sure.. and you know when the deer come around, though usually it's got like a squeaky kind of bark... its bark instantly turns into this deeper more sinister sounding bark... that's HOW I know the deer are around!
And FORGET this no-bark collars! I WANT my dog to bark! The dog is probably the ONLY thing keeping me ALIVE at this point!
