San Diego Pays $35,000, Agrees to Finding of Factual Innocents for Improper “Unloaded Open Carry” Arrest

San Carlos CA (September 29, 2010) - The City of San Diego will pay $35,000 to gun rights activist Samuel Wolanyk for his improper arrest. The San Diego Police Department also granted Mr. Wolanyk’s petition for a Finding of Factual Innocence, admitting no reasonable cause for his arrest existed.

Good news! Also highlights the value of a sincere apology when you have wronged somebody. San Diego PD could have saved themselves $35,000 by just exercising some common courtesy. That's some expensive ego-saving right there.

The shame is, that at the end of the day, the city/county isn't hurt by this, but rather the residents there. The municipality will just take more tax money from "their" citizenry, and move on with whatever they wish to do.
