San Francisco Handgun Ban

The ban has been a stunning success!

There has been a bit of a problem, the police had no place to accommodate parking for the hundreds of stolen cars that the bad guys used when they car-pooled in from the surrounding towns to turn in their hand guns.

Other than that.... :scrutiny:

Did it go into effect already? I read that it doesn't start till January 1 2006.

If they just tow them to the Mission district, they'll all be gone in a matter of hours.

I was arguing with some idiot anti gunner yesterday and he said "San Francisco has banned handguns inside city limits, and their crime rate hasn't increased". I asked him for a source... he hasn't responded yet  :D

yeah i told someone about the upcoming ban and he thought handguns were long banned in SF.

it is ridicuolous. almost everyone agrees this will only hurt law abiding citizens,
but at the same time people seem to think a city ban might make it harder for criminals to get guns.

got to love the stupids

got to love the stupids
WHY? :neener:

I'm encouraged by the fact that the Supe who withdrew her vote is a member of one of the oldest and argueably most politically savvy families in SF - Michela Alioto-Pier.

oh i meant the stupid sheeple , wasnt referring to the supes there, i see how that could happen.
i have some hopes the supes will figure this out for themselves.

am also tempted to go reg in SF for the election.
for years, all the local issues in berkeley have gone the way i wanted, and are generally trivial, AND i spend a LOT of time in SF. so an address and a form and i can help vote it down.

pretty much anyone with a place to get mail at in SF could do it and get an absentee ballot...........................
