I'm in the lookout for a new rifle. decided on getting a 22-250. i plan on hunting mostly woodchucks 100+ yards out, and the occasional coyote. I've narrowed my search down to the savage 14 classic and the cz 550 american. Both, to me, look pretty much the same. From what I've read you can't beat these two guns as far as performance goes for their price. My question is, however, which do you prefer or would be the better choice? Which has a more slender over all profile? etc. I've heard more about the savage being more accurate, and having a better trigger. On the other hand i've read that CZ makes a more quality rifle. I originally wanted a .223 but i can't stand the way the CZ's magazine hangs out, and savage's .223 has the most ugly wooden stock ever. So i figure that since i'll be handloading, i can handload rounds like a .223, or step them up to the speeds of a .204 ruger if i wished. Both are similarly priced, the cz has a 1:14 twist rate, whereas the savage has a 1:12. the savage will allow me to shoot a wider variety of bullets etc. idk, i'm in a little dilemma. i would really love to hear some of your guys thoughts on the savage and/or the cz. thanks alot
also, should i look for a hinged floor plate or a box magazine?
