I've narrowed my search for a .308 between the Savage Model 14 or a CZ 550. The CZ is about $150 more than the Savage so which would you go with?

I like the feel of the CZ better. All of mine have always been good shooting, quality guns.

Never had a Savage. Don't like the feel of them. Everyone says they are good shooters. Would say either would work.

If you don't mind spending the extra money, go with the CZ.

cz; better made bbls, single set trigger you can set down to mind meld. receiver is forged with the scope bridge as a part of the receiver. they are also best with the cz rings/mounts, which also are made from the same bar stock of steel, and there is a male piece on one of the mounts, which will fit a female notch int he rear receiver bridge. Stable is the word here.

CZ. Better all the way.

Savage has a nice trigger, but the barrels tend to just be the same old rascals they've been pumping out since the 1950's.

But if you want something as accurate as a CZ, but half the cost...try a Marlin XS7.
You will be AMAZED! It's based on the already famous XL7, but chambered in your choice of .308/.243/7mm-08
