Hey everyone, I'm new to THR and would like to know if anyone out there has any advice on where I could find a reciever mounted peep sight for this rifle. It's drilled and tapped with 2 holes from the factory. It has a side mount scope base bolted to the reciever's left side. It came with a "Ranger 4X" scope in a mount with external adjustments. I'd rather not drill any more holes in it, but really want to see what she'll do. Any ideas? Thanks.

I will be surprised if it isn't an accurate rifle. That's been my experience with my father's using open sights. It doesn't have any finish left on it, but it's rust free and accurate. The trigger is pretty good too.

My father got his before WWII, but gave it to his brother went he enlisted. My uncle the gun trader eventually traded it off. Four or five years ago he got it back from the estate of the man he'd traded it to and gave it to my dad. Who loaned it back to him.

johnbt,

My eyes are 40 years old and tired. I think this rifle is capable of printing some tight groups if i could see better. it probably makes more sense to drill and tap it. Weaver makes bases for it. i think some one must have died and had their gun closet sold to the local gun trader, I bought a model 12 from the same collection. This rifle looks 85% to me, locks up tight, and feeds well. I wish we had a reputable gunsmith in roanoke. I'll post some pics of the rifle later.
