I ordered a savage 308 from walmart the other day I think it was a model 16 'not sure' , anyway it is a stainless model.I was going to get the 10fp but I already have a series 12 in the blued model , and im not real crazy about having another gun that looks like a cannon either. So how did I do ,does anyone have one of these?

You did well. A bolt gun chambered in .308 WIN is one of the finest hunting combos made for virtually all big game in the lower 48. I have had bad experiences with Savage rifles, but from what I understand, that it is very unusual to get a lemon like I did. Be proud.

I'll agree. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a stainless steel Savage in 308. Savage makes a very good reliable and accurate rifle. Enjoy it.

You will be very happy with the savage. I love everyone that I have, or have had.
If your in my part of the country, I'll take you out to the Brassy Knoll. Teach you that you rifle will clang the 1000 yard gong all day long.

Nice rifles indeed... You will love it...

For Rangerruck: Stainless Savage w/accutrigger...

That's a 12BVSS (short action .308, heavy fluted barrel, stainless everything). I had it in the rain and besides the scope mounts getting surface rust, the only issue was a little discoloration beneath the trigger guard.
Seems to punch holes well considering my lack of ability :)
