Savage 440 O/U 12ga

I recently acquired an old Savage 440 over/under 12ga from a friend and I can't figure out how to disassemble it! It has been driving me crazy and I can't find any forum that has the field strip procedure.

I would GREATLY appreciate any help on this matter. I am usually very good at figuring out firearm mechanics but this is different from what I'm used to. It is a beautiful shotgun though, and would love to clean her up. Thanks THR!

if there is no latch on the fore end to facilitate take-down, then it is like my Savage Fox SxS and spring loaded. Grab the forearm at the end and simply pull down to release, then use the opening lever to drop the barrels so they can be lifted off the frame
