Friday I was in the next town over shopping. I stopped in a gun shop to pick up some bore cleaner and asked about the used guns. I was shown the 67 they had just taken in that morning on consignment.

It was clean and and looked to be in good condition. The price was lower than similar ones I have seen at shows. I filled out paperwork and since my license has a po box, I have to get a new drivers license before it is final.

My girlfriend asked me why I think $119 is a good price. What do they normally sell for? It has no serial number.

The price being for the 20ga is very good (12ga guns are more common). I'm not a fan of the Model 67 and have worked on dozens of them over the years. Some folks have very good luck with them. When maintained properly they are generaly OK. Keep the ejector and cartridge stop screws snug and having an extra cartridge lifter spring is not a bad idea.

If your gun is in good working order, the price is right.

Never, EVER, pay 300+ for a 67 of any type. If you can pick them up at $100 or so, they aren't bad if you just want to shoot them till they break.

They have a reputation for breaking and being next to impossible to fix. From what I have seen, if it breaks, you go out and buy another one... not for parts... but just to start shooting the new one.

I agree with the statements above. The Savage/Stevens/Springfield pumpguns of the later series are not particularly user friendly as far as field stripping is concerned. And they have a couple of critical parts that are prone to breakage - the single action bar for one, and the trigger plate extension that the stock screws onto for another.

But some folks do get good lifespans out of them... and a hundred bucks isn't really a lot, these days.

Not worth it bought one it wouldn't cycle after it fired you'd have to use the slide release to pump it. Took it back the next day.

I picked it up yesterday. I stopped at the range on the way home. It shoots well and fits me perfect. The slide release is annoying, but it is only after reloading the 3 shells, not every shot.

I am considering selling my 870. I like the 870 put the truck started acting funny Saturday. My girlfriend is asking why I had to get 2 guns (swedish mauser) in 1 day and why I have 3 shotguns....

I wouldn't buy one, I have experience with 2 and neither eject shells well.
