I've been a little too busy lately to get some pics and more details about these rifles, but hopefully tonight I can look into it some more. I appreciate all the info and insight. It seems almost 50/50 so far.

How do I tell what model they are? I am pretty sure they are 99R or 99RS

The 300 Savage round is what the Model 99 was designed around (well, the 250 Savage was technically) while the 308 is a much later development. Unless there is a huge difference in condition or you intend to shoot it a lot, I'd go with the 300 Savage.

Or you can keep the 308 and sell the 300 Savage to me. :)

Actually, the 99 Savage was developed in 1899, as the name implies. It was a modification of the earlier 1895 Savage. Neither the .250-3000 or the .300 Savage existed at that time.

The primary cartridge for the early 99s was the .303 Savage, which is quite similar to the .30-30 Winchester.

like I said I pretty much had them all from .22HP/.410 , .250 perch belly take down, .300 s from the 30s , .358s from the 70s , the 95 retro .308 but I have kept a 1957 99f in .308 and allthough I no longer will hunt with it it is perfect and I am not selling it .
