My brother is thinking about buying a Savage 11 vt. While this rifle's barrel is free floated he really wanted the Accustock. If he found an Accustock for sale could he just take the old stock off and install the new stock.
From everything I've read, the 10 and 11 models are built on the same action but I've also read that the actions that savage puts in the Accustock is slightly different and this is the reason for my post.

As far as I can tell the main feature of the Accustock is that it clamps to the recoil lug. I don't know if the lug dimensions are any different on Accustock equipped rifles. I'd think a simpler, cheaper, and maybe even better alternative would be to fiberglass bed the 11 VT.

I had a 110 fp that was pillar bed savage. No accustock. Would shoot definite sub 1" groups at 100 yd. No accustock needed.

it probably won' fit. The accustock has a specific recoil lug. He will probably need to modify the stock to get it to fit. Buy the gun with the accustock.
