Savage , Barrel Nut Wrenches

Question ;, Will the Barrel Nut Wrench from my Savage 10 / 110 fit the barrel nut on the 116 Model ?
I know it fits the 111 and 112 but don't know about a Model 116 in 300 Win Mag.
The 116 is a friends rifle that I havent seen yet, otherwise i would just try it on for size.

AFAIK they are all the same diameter, but the shape or spacing of the grooves changed at some point in time. That's why the wrenches have two different holes in them.

The wrench that I have has Rounded off Dogs on one end, and the newer style that are Square ended dogs to fit the two different styles of early and late model barrel nuts.

Does anyone have the Barrel shank spece for the 116 FSS in the 300 Mag
It it still the same as the 110 ?

Several reputable sources say all of them have the same external dimensions.

Thank you for your help.
A friend wants to bring his rifle by and have me pull the barrel so he can get the spec's to order a new Custom Barrel.
I told him, you can order good Quality , Pre fit barrels no problem.
Hmm, a 7mm-08 would be nice to replace the .308 on my Model 10.
I don't have a rifle in that caliber , "Yet"
