Had to have one and now I do have one.
sn. 43C8944. Made in 1943. The wood is in pretty good shape. Still pretty blue, and the bore is excellent. I got it from Classic Arms Inc. It was a hand pick piece. And I only paid around $160.00, that included bayonet, sling, and shipping.
Now heres the good thing about the deal. This is the second Enfield I got. The first was sent back because of pitting inside the barrel. Ben, the owner of Classic Arms told me to send it back and he would refund my money and didn't even hesitate. I told Ben I would rather have a different rifle. He said no problem. Total time for both rifles including the return was a little less than 2 weeks. That is good service.

"...didn't even hesitate..." It's nice to hear about good customer service. Check the headspace before you shoot it anyway. Even if the serial numbers match. Thousands of 'em have been assembled out of parts bins with zero QC. Neither you nor Classic Arms has any idea what may have been done to it in the 63 years since it was made. Anybody could have changed the bolt head without using headspace guages in that time.

I have one that is a really nice shooter. Beautiful bore and some great groups even with surplus 1941 ammo. It also has a gouge in the handguard that looks like something made by a bayonet or edged weapon.

$160 for a good Savage built Lee Enfield with extras and shipping included is a damn good price. Nice find.
