Savage Hog Hunter .308

Not yet. Im going out of town this weekend so hopefully next week sometime. I'll post some more pics and results then.

I have to say though, I Really like the open sights on this thing. It's more like a V with a half round at the bottom, lookiing at the brass bead. Lines up nice. Im sure I'll be putting a scope on it but I may just spring for some good QD rings and keep up on practice with the irons. Much better than old buckhorns found on my leverguns and 22's.

First thing I'd do is swap the barrel-mounted rear sight off for a Williams aperture on the receiver. That's if they bring out a left-handed version. It's a lot like I did with my left-handed M111GL in .25-06... it's wearing a Williams Foolproof with target knobs. The Hog Hunter might wind up with a Guide.

Savage=Accurate,Affordable, and Dependable

I have one of these in 308 and they are very well designed and accurate. If your looking for a great field gun, you cannot beat it for accuracy and price- about $425 on GB. I've had several Savages and have never been disappointed with their accuracy. With this one, I am getting 3/4 inch groups at 100 yds with 150 gr Federals! I love guns that like cheap ammo. This gun will probably become my main goto gun for most of my hunting- deer, hog, coyote.
