Savage Mark II Scope

Looks like plenty of space to me! That's actually pretty close to ideal by my standards, I basically never get it there though, haha.

My most recent scope interface issue was with the mount rather than the barrel. The old Weaver rings I used with this Hawke got the scope low enough to bring the bottom of the turret into contact with the Picrail -- I had to file down that section of this steel mounting rail about a 16th" to create proper clearance:

The good news was that there was just enough room between the barrel and objective bell to fit the scope cover, and the scope is now low enough to remove all the cheek risers from the stock.

I have since changed scope rings and it is a smidge lower. I love Mark IIs and I like this simple, blued bull barrel Mark II a lot. And it makes CZ guys really mad because it is a very consistently accurate little bugger:

They really are impressive for how cheap they are.

I've had a Mueller APV on mine since I bought it and its been great, but I've been toying around with swapping it out for something with a BDC style reticle for squirrel hunting as I'm hoping to start this year.
