Savage MKII Failure to Fire

I have a MKII BTVSS. It has about 1500 rounds through it and has all of a sudden decided to what one would think is light strike. I use only Wolf Match ammo.

I went 1200 rounds, zero issue, zero failure to fire and now all of a sudden it is 1 in every 5 rounds. I figured the bolt was dirty or something so I did a complete strip including removing the extractor, firing pin, and collar that holds it all in place. I degreased everyyyy thing and added a very light coat of M-Pro LPX.

Put it back together and still... the same issue. What is going on here? The rounds that fire and those that dont have the same strike appearance. Could it just be a terrible lot of Wolf? I buy the 500rnd bricks.

Try a different box of ammo before anything else ...

Probably a bad 'lot' of ammo, like Chester said, try some different ammo.

check to make sure the flange at the back of the bolt isnt contacting the stock. I had a problem with my 93r17btvss not firing after taking it apart a few times and found that the action had droped lower in the stock tying up the bolt a bit. I fixed it by laying a couple pads of marine tex at the back of the action to hold it up a bit and cutting and fitting a washer under the rear action pillar.
