thought some of you folks out there may be interested in this. I went down to cabelas looking for a nice 22-250, thought i was going to put a dent in my checking account, anyway while there got talking to one of the sales people at the gun counter and he was telling me about the savage model 10t.
$650 and $100 rebate, not crazy about rails on a bolt action, well for the price what the heck i will give it a go and top it off with an inexpensive vortex crossfire scope 6x14 50mm which for the dough turns out to be pretty decent, so far holds point of aim and adjustment is on the spot.
here is a group that was fired this morning using 50gr hornady vmax and 36grs. of re15 at 105 yds.
could probably have done better if the may flys would have left me alone. the first shot in the bulls eye was a fouling shot, the other seven you can see are not bad. not fantastic for an inexpensive rifle'
hey! wanted to show off my paint job anyway, 001.JPG 003.JPG tired of the black.

curious why you don't prefer a rail on a bolt gun. I think from the manufacturers stand point it offers many more optic mounting options. I personally put rails on all my bolt guns. Nothing wrong with anyone else's opinion. I am just curious to hear your reasoning.
Nice gun, I really enjoy mine, great shooting.

I have a similar setup to yours with the same scope but mines an axis 223 and it impresses me very much with how accurate it is. love my vortex 6-18 also.
