I got a Savage Model 29 .22short and .22LR pump. From what he said, he got it during the 1950's but I want to find a specific year. I mailed Mr. Callahan, the Savage historian, and he wanted $15 for his services so I decided to postpone on his offer for now.
It appears to have 2 serial numbers. One on the action and one on the stock. They are:
Stock: 148959L
Action: 149073L
I know there are model 29a's and 29b's but this just says it's just a model 29, no a or b marking.
Does anyone have any information to help further identify the manufacture date on this gun? Thank you!
