Savage Target Action

One of the guys had one of these out at my club... Said it came in either right bolt left port or right bolt right port... Sucker was pretty massive, and looks like it'll make an excellent varmint action. Only "down side" was that he discovered that it's not threaded for "standard" Savage barrels - so getting it barreled will require a custom barrel (altho some of the Savage smiths will doubtless not have a problem with that).

Anyone that makes pre-fit Savage barrels will also make them in large shank. It's a non-issue. Northlander on the Savageshooters forum has several stainless large shank McGowen and Shilen barrels in stock, ready to ship.
