I talked to sitting fox and did the work estimate but having trouble with getting his quote via email so not sure whats going on there! but so besides the pedersoli Mortimer in which I do like! where else can a guy get a decent buy on 12g flintlock fowler?? and singleshot will be fine! thanks! :)

Unless you're going after ducks, a 20 gauge fowler will serve all your needs. I'd contact Cabin Creek and see what they'd do for a price on a fowler in-the-white http://cabincreek.net/revspecs/colonial-american-fowler/. Tennessee Valley Muzzleloading (TVM) makes a very good fowler. You may be having a delay as Sitting Fox doesn't build every gun "in-house" so he may be checking with one or two of his fowler builders to see how soon they can do the work for you.

FYI I'm taking Jim Chambers' English Rifle (flintlock) class and instead of fancy wood, will be buying an additional smoothbore barrel for the stock. That'll make it a 2 in 1.

Sorry, not Jim Chambers but Ron Scott. I think Jim is teaching his six day lock assembly class.

National Muzzle Loading Rifle's Summer Gun Building Seminar held at Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, KY. You can call them to see if there's any openings left. Instructor is famed rifle builder from Oregon, Ron Scott.

Tuition cost is slightly over $1k plus $1050 material fee for me because of the 2nd smoothbore barrel. Then there's housing and your own food expense. Class is 9 days long and runs from May 31-June 8 (or so). Afterward most of us are headed up to Friendship, IN for the National Match (muzzle loading) and a lot of fun. I actually just bought a 24 gauge fowler from Sitting Fox...I'm very happy with it! Mine was one of the ready built fowlers, so there was no delay. I like it so much that I plan to order a .58 caliber Jaeger sometime in the semi-near future.

If he is still out there, Jackie Brown makes a nice gun for a reasonable price. I love mine. Have not heard of him in a while, anybody know if he is still working?
