Saw this on "Cops"

Was watching Cops on Thanksgiving and I think they were in Sacramento.

There was a female officer with a delightful British accent. She said she had been a cop in Britain where they don't carry guns and now a cop in the US where they do and she couldn't imagine doing the job in Britain without a sidearm anymore.

It's amazing how much more a person can learn when presented with all of the facts.

It isn't so much facts rather than it is being REAL LIFE OPTIONS. Stuff on paper is just stuff on paper, but real options are a whole other game. The female officer probably had all the facts in England, especially those relevant to England. She is no longer in England and the game has changed quite a bit.

To be honest, the 'facts' everyone mentions seems to be a bunch of hooey as near as I can tell. The 'facts' continually get misrepresented by the good guys as well as the bad. Facts and figures, real or not, are really nothing of consequence except for historical consideration.

A copule years back, I check the argument and counter from the NRA and MMM on shooting stats. The both referenced the same CDC information that was available online. When I checked the data, they had both presented the information in a manner that only favored their own arguments. The 'truth' was really somewhere in between what was being claimed. I expect the bad guys to lie, so when the good guys do it, I have to wonder who the bad guys really are.

Just wish the local nannys would realise that it's not only Police officers who need protection (nothing against the UK police who do a wonderful job most of the time, but they are a phone call away ....).but when the SHTF your on you own.

Just forwarded an interesting post to our Prime Minister Tony Blair regarding this subject but I don't suppose it will do any good.
