Unfortunately there are many people in the US, citizens and politicians alike, who believe that if the majority vote for something it is OK and that the Constitution doesn't mean anything. Their view is that you only have the rights that the majority are willing to let you have, and that we actually are subjects of the government rather than citizens.

My own view is that we should fight peacefully until that finally doesn't work and then expect this to come to a violent conclusion. The crisis period that led up to the American Revolution was about 15 years, and the crisis period that led up to the Civil War was only about 4 or 5. Looks to me like we entered the current crisis period about 2007 and I think that gun control is just one of the assaults on freedom that we face. The real issue is freedom versus subjugation.

We shall defend our island whatever the cost may be; we shall fight on beaches, landing grounds, in fields, in streets and on the hills. We shall never surrender
Stay calm, cool and collected. Disregard despair.

Write. Call. Email. Barrage. Join. Educate. Resist. Organize. VOTE

Savor the Struggle. Many have died for less defending this chaotic mess we call American Freedom.

And when you get a chance to take a break, take a newbie out shooting. It will put a big smile on your face and theirs as well. One less opponent, one more ally.

I won't go so far as to make predictions, as this is a Nation that once banned beer. But fight the good fight. Legally.

Take The High Road. Always.

Walker,

Take a deep breath, go here:

Scroll to the bottom. Take a few minutes to articulate politely to your representative(s) and senator(s) why you are against additional gun control legislation and that voting records on this issue will affect your voting decision come election time. It's still the time to be polite and firm. Panic isn't going to help anything.

Also, if you've got the $ to spare, NRA-ILA, SAF, and GOA are undoubtedly giving a very loud ear-full to all the congresscritters on Capitol Hill.

I disagree with the OP. I think we will win. We are numerous and we have a voice. We have our God given right to self defense, as it is memorialized in the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The U.S. Supreme Court has ended the individual vs. collective debate by holding that the right to keep and bear arms is an individual right. Many Americans believe that anti-gun laws are ineffective and that we should be allowed to own semi auto firearms, as is evidenced by the surge in buying. And finally, we will win because we are right, and our fellow Americans are smart enough to see through all of the smoke and mirrors. We should have faith in our selves and our country.

I prefer to stick with the perspective offered in Apachedriver's sig-line- Roll over and play dead is a trick for my dog, not me.

I am not giving up- ever. :fire:

Heck, we got Reed Exhibitions to roll-over and we can make Congress do the same. Just gotta yell and scream 'til they get it, so let's do away with the "let's roll-over and wet all over ourselves in submission" act whenever the anti-gun mob tells us that we have to give up another portion of our 2A rights.

I guess you were not around the many times our rights have been chalanged before. I wouldn't want you next to me in combat, with that attitude.
We happen to have more pro gun folks than ever before. The last time people freaked out that there was even such a thing as an assault weapon.
I'll buy all of your for a hundred bucks each, since you are giving them up.

What point are you trying to make? It appears, and correct me if I am wrong, that your analysis over the last month has led you to the conclusion that the war on guns has already been won by the antis. That is certainly a different take on the "Rebel Yell" that I remember.

I have yet to understand the logic of THR doomsday crowd that have espoused compromise and surrender prior to any bill making it to the floor for vote. Frankly, I find that more frightening than a Feinstein speech, since with her at least, I know what to expect.
