I currently have a Lee Safety Scale. I'm using a scoop to drop about the right amount of powder onto the scale and then trickle a bit more into the pan. However, since the pan hangs by a hook I need to navigate around that hook to add the additional powder.

I'm looking for a balance beam scale that would have a plate to hold the powder pan instead, like the balance beam scales used in school. Then I would be able to have the same access to the pan as a digital scale, but have the sensitivity of a balance beam scale.

Everything I've come up with on line though is in grams instead of grains though. So, is there such a beast, or should I settle for a digital scale?

I have a RCBS 5-0-5--no problem to use a trickler
Watch your digital scales--a lot of them will not work with a trickler..................

Thanks for the replies, but they all have the same problem. The cup for the powder hangs (albeit the hook is the opposite side compared to the Lee scale) which puts something in the way.

What I would like is something like this scale, which I could put the cup for the powder on top of the big platform without having a hook in the way for trickling powder into the cup. The problem is all the scales like this I can find are in grams.

can't you just connect a hose to the output of your tickler and redirect into the pan? If not, the rcbs 130 might do what you need, provided you aren't dropping huge charges. The pan is still under the beams, but not as much as with the 5-0-5

I guess I wasn't clear. I'm using the scoop to trickle the powder in, not an actual trickler. I'm still relatively new to the lingo. Please bear with me.

Crazy, just put a bend/twist in the hanger wire, turn it about 90 degrees to give you the clearance you want.

I use two cheap digital carat scales I bought off ebay to double check each other occasionally.
They measure in grains, grams, ounces, and carats.

Dang, Crazy days... What are you trying to reload??... A blunt??

The in-famous triple beam... I saw a couple of those during the college daze...

Just Kidding....
