Does anyone have any experience with sccy? They have a couple of interesting 9mms and are US made but I haven't heard much(if anything) about the company. Thanks

I own one, and have sold a lot of them. The early guns had issues, and the company had some teething problems. The Gen2 guns are good to go in my book. The DA trigger pull is very smooth, and they have proven reliable with any factory ammo I have tried. Very similar to the Kel-Tec P11, but the fit and finish is a bit nicer. I also like that they come with 2 mags with flat and extended bases.

I agree faithful. We have sold fifty or more. When it was SKYY, we had quite a few problems. Even one with no rifling. Last 20 or 30 were o.k. wouldn't be my first choice for SD but better than a highpoint.

Bought one from AIM when they were just over $200. Very satisfied for the price, except for difficulty getting magazines. They are "10" rounders, but can fit 11-12 with some minor tweaks...but getting more than the 2 supplied with the gun requires some effort. One of these and an inexpensive holster ala a Remora makes a good starter CCW set up.

I don't know if when people say they're good for the money that means malfunctions are acceptable since the pistol is so cheap - or what.

Does anyone have 500 or so rounds of decent ammo through one of these without malfunctions?

I don't mind ammo brand sensitivity in a little gun so much unless they can't fire any of Federal, Remington, Winchester, Hornady or Speer's premium 9mm SD ammo reliably.

I had one for as while and it was just "ok". Since I already had a PM9 for EDC I sold off the SCCY. Still, it's not bad for the money.

Malfunctions aren't the only potential negatives associated with a pistol. Accuracy, estimated service life, trigger feel, available accessories, features, warranty support, etc - even visual appeal - can all factor into it.

I'd bet that a Ruger P95 would run more reliably than most custom 1911's but that doesn't mean its a better gun. Certainly good for the money though ;).

One of the senior guys at my unit has one of the CPX-2 that he uses as a truck gun. Finally got to see it a few months back and yes I would put them better than Kel-tec in terms of fit and finish. According to him they are very reliable for the price he paid. He only recalled one malfunction out of about 1000 rounds.
