The Trap and Skeet club at my college (Kettering University) got some funding this semester so we're going to have some outings. We'll be shooting rifles and pistols also but I guess when the club started they made it Trap and Skeet just to give it a PC name.

There's an area in the administrative building where clubs hang giant banners with upcoming events, so I went to make one for our outing this Sunday. The banner has to be approved by Student Activities so I brought along this sketch and was told that I had to take out the pictures of the guy with the AR and the 1911 so we "don't piss anyone off" as it was put. The Activities director said the guy with the AR looked like a terrorist lol. Oh well, at least they let me keep the trap shooter. I'm really looking forward to getting some new shooters aboard. A girl I know that's pro-2A and is involved with the school paper and yearbook said she might be able to get an article and pictures published so that'll definitely be cool.

No offense, but with the level of computer graphics available today even in basic software packages, I would try for something a little more professional looking; you need to create a good first impression, after all.

Honestly that looks like something one of my middle-school students would draw. I'm glad your club is going great and that you want to get the word out but we need to realize our limitations. I suggest the computer graphics advice above.

That was just a sketch to show the Activities people for approval, the actual banner I made looks good, I used different color paints and took my time. I could make something on a computer but printing it on a 3'x20' (that's feet) piece of paper could prove challenging hehe.

My daughter has a scholarship and will be starting at Kettering in October.
Now if I could just get her to start shooting.

BluesBear, that's pretty cool, not every day you talk to someone that's even heard of Kettering lol. It's a great school, the location just sucks lol. Oh and the 80% male population isn't too great for us guys either heh. If you have any questions about the school feel free to PM me.

Change the guy a little. Put on ear protection, change the glasses to Mr. Magoo type things, and get his finger off the trigger. Change the golf shirt to a shooting jacket. Perhaps if you put him at a covered firing line he would look more like a target shooter and less like a terrorist.
