Hello Everyone,

I have a custom M1A I am looking to put some premium glass on and I just got done looking through a Kahles scope (a 30mm tube model) at my local gun shop along with some premium Leupold, Swarovski, and Zeiss models.

The Kahles seems to have all the optical quality of the other German models without the price tag. It seems lightweight, well made, Austrian manufacturing, and a good value for the high end quality delivered. The clerk also mentioned that Kahles and Swarovski share optical technology until recently.

Am I missing something here?

Why should I pay more or just as much for a "tactical scope" when I can have a Kahles with a matte finish and Austrian optical quality for the same price or less?

It depends what you want to accomplish.

As said earlier, it depends on the use.

However...

According to the guys at Opticstalk.com, the general consensus is that Kahles is one of the absolutely clearest and brightest lenses that you can buy.

Because I am a low-light hunter, that characteristic of Kahles gets my attention.

I wish I had one.

Good luck!
