Scope Information Overload - rimfire

I just bought a Simmons 22 Magnum for less than $30 at Wally World. I had one 15 years ago and it worked fine. They probably still turn them out on the same Chinese assembly line but have improved glass. I can see no justification in charging over 50 bucks for a fixed 4x rimfire scope.
The crosshairs fell out of my Simmons 22 Magnum scope. That's all the justification I needed.

What does the length of the scope matter? Or you just don't like the way it looks?

Just to cut down on hitting things with it I guess. I think I just don't need so much magnification and don't require that much light. I'm not going to be hunting at early morn or dusk or anything. Going to the range on good days is about it.

I think your definitions of length, upper or handguard differ from mine, but to each his own.

Yeah, we have different definitions I guess. Its fine. You guys have helped me alot with this thread and I appreciate it very much. I think you just helped me decide that I need a lower powered scope with good mounts.

Prostaff Rimefire is 14" per Nikon's website
Just measured my upper. It is ~17.5" Seems almost the same length to me.
