Hello First time user Hope I'm doing everything correctly I have a Springfield M1A with the side mount scope mount and I had a Nikon scope on it. I could not get enough eye relief with this scope What scope would you all recommend? Thanks

Leupold has the reputation of having good eye relief on their scopes, even the less expensive models such as the Freedom line. Nothing scientific but my eyes tell me it tends to be true. Don’t know about the Rifleman. The Burris scopes I’ve had/have seem to have good eye relief along with Meopta and Zeiss. The non-bubble pack scopes I’ve looked through with the worst eye relief to my eyes are the Vortex Crossfire(the worst), Nikon P Series and Vortex Viper. The Vipers were early models I purchased around 2009-10, a 2-7 and a 3-9, so things could have changed. The original Nikon Buckmasters had decent eye relief to my eyes. It’s been awhile but I don’t remember Vortex Diamondbacks(a 3-9) having as bad of eye relief as Crossfires and Vipers. I’ve never held a SWFA.

Are you talking about eye box or eye relief OP, there is a difference? I’ve never been able to explain it in less than a thousand words. The definition from the thread below is decent but I’ve seen better.

Not enough eye relief? I interpret that to mean the ocular end of the scope is sticking back rearwards too far towards your eye. This is more of a mounting issue than a scope issue. Simply changing to a different rifle scope is unlikely resolve your issue, and short eye relief on a scope is generally undesirable anyway (increasing the chance of getting a black eye during recoil). I assume you've already tried to slide the scope as far forward in the rings as possible. To move the scope farther forward on your rifle, you can try a cantilever mount flipped around backwards.
