Scope sunshade threads?

Just curious if anybody can tell me the thread sizes for a 40mm scope and a 50mm scope. (That is, if they are anywhere near standard from one brand to another) I need to machine a scope extension for a special project I'm working on. Thanks!

Real hard to say. But what I did was take my scope into a camera shop and buy a polarizing filter so now I know what the thread pitch on my scope is. I'd suggest doing that. PS they have several different quality levels for those filters so they have different price levels as well. The smaller the diameter the cheaper they are.

And yes I like mine very much.

It varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. I would give the manufacturer a call. Buggering up the threads will make you say bad words.
