What store let’s you buy new scopes and lets you exchange them because you don’t like them and want something else?

Most anywhere I would think. Not mount and use it obviously but if it's not going to fit or your change your mind I've never dealt with anywhere that didn't.

My bad, I thought you mounted and used them before returning them.

Leupold makes a good scope. For about the same money, these are BETTER scopes. For the same money I'd buy the one with the BDC reticle, but you can't go wrong either way.

This is the same scope as the discontinued Zeiss Conquest 3-9X40. Meopta always made them, just put Zeiss badges on them. When Zeiss discontinued them Cabelas sold them for a while under the Euro Instinct line.

It’s a common misconception that the MeoPro and Conquest are the same scope. Meopta did make the Conquest but they are different than the MeoPro. The Conquest and the Cabela’s Euro Instinct are the same scope I’m pretty sure. I have a 3-9x40 Conquest and two 3.5-10x44 MeoPro’s. When I sold optics and firearms for Cabela’s I compared all three.

Does the VX5 have the firedot? If so, you will be happy. I love mine, and love that if it fails.... oh well its just a standard reticle. I picked up my VX6 3-18 on closeout last year for $750 at cabelas and kick myself daily for not buying out the store. I actually bought two and stuck one on a shelf. A few weeks later I returned it because the guilt got to me (wife didnt know I got two!). Should've kept that thing.... This is a scope I would be happy with on any rifle I own.

Nah I'm not quite that unscrupulous lol

Yup I went with the firedot!

While I love my MeoPro scopes and think they ar

I was 99% sure I was correct but that 1% nagged at me so I reached out to Ilya Koshkin whose opinions I respect. Looks like I was wrong. Below is my question and his response.

Original Zeiss Conquest and Meopta MeoPro?
I’ve read inumerable times they are the same scope. If my information is correct Meopta assembled the old Conquest for Zeiss. I have a Conquest 3-9x40 and a MeoPro 3.5-10x44. They don’t look like the same scope to me and the glass seems different to my eyes.

The Conquest does look like it might me the same scope as the Cabela’s Euro Instinct, made by Meopta. I’ve compared a Euro Instinct to my Conquest and they look almost identical. This isn’t important by any stretch but I am curious about it. If you have the time I’d appreciate your feedback.

Ilya’s response
“Meopta built the original Conquest for Zeiss and some MeoPro scopes are almost identical to the Conquest. Meopta does their own coatings, however, and I would not be surprised if those were a little different. Some MeoPro models are the same as Conquest, while others are unique to the MeoPro line. The 3.5-10x44 is the same as the original Conquest. Comparing 3-9x40 to 3.5-10x44 is not terribly productive. Those are fairly different designs. If you compare the same configurations across the board they will be pretty similar aside from coating differences and sample variation. Also keep in mind that there was a 3-9x42 MeoPro that is substantially different from 3-9x40 Conquest/MeoPro/Instinct.
Original Cabela's Euro was the re-labeled 3-9x42, while the current Instinct is the 3-9x40. Early MeoPro scopes that went on sale when Zeiss was still selling the Conquest had a different eyepiece that was a bit larger in diameter. Conquest eyepiece is a little smaller and has a bit more eye relief. Depending on which model of MeoPro and ont he date of manufacturer, it may have a different eyepiece.”
