Greetings,

Any feedback about Osprey scopes?

I took a look at Federal scopes too and they look astoundingly the same looking than Barksa...

EDIT: Ok, I just read they are a bunch of crap...

What about Cabelas branded scopes?

Thank you

I think Cabela's scope are called Pine Ridge or something like that. They're Asian made scopes, Japan or China. I can't remember which. I don't have experience with them. I've got a BSA, whatever the most expensive one is, which is still dirt cheap. It's been a decent scope. You don't notice much about the glass at 50 yards or closer, but the further out you shoot, the murkier the lens is. I wouldn't hesitate to put one on a knockaround truck gun though. Beats irons...maybe just barely though.

There are countless posts on here advising against cutting corners on optics. We post them for a reason, and most of us do so from experience. Collectively we have tried every economy brand out there. Learn from our mistakes. We tried to save money by going the economy route and it didn't work. A lot of us spent more in replacing the crap optics with quality glass than we would have spent had we bought quality to begin with.

Oh yeah, and BSA sucks. Ask me how I know.

I have 180 rounds through my AR15 with an osprey 3x9x42 mounted on it with no issues. Rock solid so far. It works as advertised. I zeroed at 100 yards with a 3/4 inch group. Two of three shots you could cover with a dime. I cranked it up to 200 yards and it was right on the money. Ditto for 300 yards. For the amount of shooting I do it is all I need. I'm not an expert rifleman and just need to be able to kill a coyote out to 200 yards and an occasional 300 yard shot. Maybe it will blow up on the next shot fired but so far so good.
