Posting here, because a great many Scorps are sold as pistols; mods, move it if you must.
Longtime Scorpion 9mm fan; mine is an SBR with OEM folding stock. Shoots straight, goes bang all the time. I stocked up on a bunch of the translucent OEM mags.
One developed a crack on the feed lips; CZ will not warranty them.

Sooooo, need to get some replacements, as insurance.
What do yinz boys like? The newer, black w/windows OEM mags? Magpul? Something else?
Really love the package, but CZ's unwillingness to warranty their mags does piss me off.

That's very surprising. CZ warrantied every one of my 6 original translucent magazines, some of them a few times. Those translucent ones always developed a right side crack.

CZ warrantied a couple of them with the newer black versions with window and they have been great.

PSA makes some, as does Magpul. I don't have any of these, but I have heard good things and good warranty support.

Destructo6, how long ago did CZ warrant you mags? I called customer support yesterday, and was told they would not warranty the magazines. Their contention being that oil and solvents would degrade the magazines. (Oil and solvents near a gun? Hmmmm...)
Anyway, I contacted customer service again, electronically. We'll see.

Sucks about the factory mags. I was unaware there were problems, and will keep an eye on mine. I haven't had any problems with my clear ones yet. That said, I have a few 35 round Magpul mags that I use more often, and they work great.

So the MagPuls run 100%? I'm still waiting to hear something from my on line inquiry.
Most of my mags are fine, but the way the world is...
Thnx,

It has been a couple of years since the last time.

Cracked feed lips is a well known issue with the translucent magazines. I'm surprised they won't warranty them.

As noted, I do have an electronic communication in to them; thus far, no response.
The gun itself seems wonderfully durable.
Have to think that the places that use Scorpions as buzz guns view magazines as a disposable item.

I actually did a test and a youtube video on this, I'll link it below. I left different types loaded for different lengths of time, my final conclusion was I liked the magpuls

Thanks, beeenbag. You do realize that the OEMs you tested were the 2nd generation, solid color ones? Mine are the earlier, translucent ones.
I think you have spooked me off the ones with metal feedlips. That is the first time I've ever seen a Scorpion tie up. Do have a generally positive view of MagPuls, from some limited use in other platforms.
Full disclosure; some of my OEM mags have literally been loaded for years, including the one that cracked.
The whole thing folds into a 24" package, and rides along down to camp, where a mag or two, perhaps, gets shot away. Never have been a mag dump guy, just for grits and shins. So some get emptied, others just go back, loaded, in the drawer for another day.
I'll see what CZ ends up saying, but I may pick up some 2nd gen OEMs or the MagPuls.
Thnx!

Yeah, I know what mags you are talking about, I unfortunately didn't and don't have any to test. I really like the Pmags, I don't think you'll be dissatisfied if you try them out. The second gen cz mags had no issues either but the magpuls just feel like better quality to me... completely subjective statement.

If you like P-Mags, you're the first guy I know who says it! ;)
After the holidays, I'll start looking for some Gen 2 OEMs, or MagPuls. It's not like I'm down to my last magazine.

Beenbag, an apology is in order; I was confusing Pmags with Pro mags; I see that Pmag is what MagPul calls some of their mags.
Having seen generally favorable reports here, and online elsewhere, ordered 4 MagPuls from Prepper Gunshop, for $14.99 @.
Did see a review of the MagPuls breaking mag lips if repeatedly dropped; not planning on dropping them.
But then, I do have an M9 mag that I ran over with the Jeep; it looks like hell, but it still works....
Thanks, all, and, again, sorry Beenbag.
